Hardwood and LVP flooring in Falcon, CO

Floor upgrades for Falcon’s newer homes, about 26 minutes northeast of Colorado Springs.

The town

Big skies, newer houses, builder carpet.

Falcon spreads across the plains northeast of Colorado Springs along US 24 and Woodmen Road, with Pikes Peak filling the western view. Most of it is newer construction: Meridian Ranch, Woodmen Hills, Paint Brush Hills and the larger lots of 4 Way Ranch.

Many of those homes came with builder grade carpet and sheet vinyl. Swapping it for hardwood or a good luxury vinyl plank is one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make to a newer house.

Lots of Falcon families do it in stages: hardwood through the main floor first, then the stairs, then plank in the basement.

Out on the plains

Wind, dust and the finish.

Wind out east carries fine dust and grit, and grit is what dulls a floor finish. A durable finish, good mats at every door and a regular sweep keep floors out here looking new for years.

From a Seymour Floors customer

“From beginning to end, we’re very pleased with the work process, how the floors turned out, and the price - basically all aspects of Seymour Floors.”

FAQ

Falcon flooring questions.

Hardwood or LVP for a house with big dogs?

LVP stands up to claws and accidents better. Hardwood shows wear sooner but can be sanded and refinished when it does. Plenty of families put hardwood up front and plank in the basement and mudroom.

Can you put hardwood on the stairs in a newer home?

Yes. Carpet comes off and wood treads and risers go on, stained to match the floor.
