Hardwood floor installation in Colorado Springs

Solid and engineered hardwood, laid by a family crew with 30 years in the flooring trade. A new floor, a whole house, or more of the floor you already love.

What goes down

Solid, engineered and patterned.

Solid hardwood is one piece of wood top to bottom, so it can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. Oak is the workhorse, with maple and walnut when you want a lighter or a richer floor.

Engineered hardwood is built in layers, which keeps it steadier where moisture moves, like basements and concrete slabs. When the floor should be the feature, we lay patterns too, herringbone included.

Adding on

More of the floor you already have.

Opening a wall, finishing a room, or carrying wood into a hall that had carpet? New boards get woven into the old ones in staggered lengths. Then the whole area is sanded and finished together, so there is no line where old meets new.

“He does incredible work and matched our old floors perfectly.”

Front Range air

Ready for life at 6,035 feet.

Colorado Springs air is thin and dry most of the year, and wood shrinks and swells with it. Letting boards acclimate in the house before they go down, and leaving expansion space at every wall, keeps winter gaps small and the floor flat through summer.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

How long does a hardwood install take?

It depends on the size of the area and the type of hardwood you choose. On average an install takes between three and seven days.

Solid or engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood and can be sanded and refinished many times. Engineered hardwood is layered, which makes it more stable and more resistant to moisture, so it suits basements, slabs and other spots where solid wood struggles.

Can you match the floor I already have?

In most cases. We match the species and board width, lace new boards into the old, then sand and stain everything together so it reads as a single floor.
