Board replacement

Damaged boards out, matching boards in.

Pet stains, deep gouges and water darkened boards can be cut out without tearing out the entire room. We remove the damaged boards in staggered lengths, weave new ones in, then sand and finish the patch so it blends with the rest of the floor.

Under the surface

When the subfloor is the problem.

A floor that flexes, squeaks or sags usually has trouble underneath. Leaks from toilets, dishwashers and water heaters are the common culprits. We open it up, replace the damaged subfloor, level it and put the finished floor back.

Bathroom floor? We pull the toilet and reset it as part of the job.

From a landlord we helped

Sealed better than before.

A toilet that was never set right had leaked into the subfloor of a rented house. The subfloor was replaced, new plank went down and the toilet went back on with a better seal.

“The finished flooring looks wonderful and they installed the toilet sealing it with a better method than the previous plumber had done to ensure no future leaks.”

Leveling and trim

Flat floors and clean edges.

Uneven subfloors get leveled before new flooring goes down, so planks lock tight and hardwood lies flat. Baseboards can be pulled and reset afterward so the floor finishes cleanly at the wall.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Can you repair just part of a hardwood floor?

Yes. Damaged boards come out in staggered lengths and new boards are woven in. Sanding and finishing the area afterward blends the repair into the floor around it.

What causes a soft spot in the floor?

Most soft spots are water damage in the subfloor from a slow leak, often a toilet, dishwasher or water heater. Fixing the leak and replacing the damaged subfloor is the only lasting repair.

Do you handle the toilet on a bathroom floor job?

Yes. We pull the toilet, do the floor and reset it with a fresh seal.
